Commercial activities started with a small gas station in Ereğli/Konya in the late 50s. These activities diversified with mining in the late 90s. With Demireller Madencilik AŞ., one of the group companies established in 2002, it has transformed into a structure that provides valuable contributions to the regional and Turkish economy.
Demireller Madencilik AŞ. is the largest mining company of the group and deals with bauxite mining. The first major works on Bauxite started in 2002 with the production and marketing of high-quality ore from 10 sites located within the provincial borders of Ayrancı/Karaman and Mersin. A leading position in Turkey was reached in a short time with visionary approaches.
Later, Demireller Madencilik A.Ş. started operating bauxite mines in other regions of Turkey (Milas/Muğla, Mihalıççık/Eskişehir, Nurhak/Kahramanmaraş). The company also carried out bauxite production in Montenegro as a contractor between 2018-2020. Bauxite activities in Eskişehir are also carried out with another group company.
All production facilities in the mines are designed to meet full customer satisfaction with comprehensive quality control systems. All group companies always strive for %100 excellence by using 25 years of experience in mining, trained workforce, R&D laboratories, storage and logistics facilities in production processes.
Since 2010, iron ore (magnetite) production has been carried out within another group company (DEMAD A.Ş.). Magnetite iron ore is extracted from mines located in Elbistan/Kahramanmaraş and Gövdeli/Malatya. Ores are processed for concentrate and powder products in the company's enrichment facilities and then sold both domestically and abroad.
Mining activities have been further expanded with magnesite ore production since 2012. High-quality magnesite production is carried out in the mine located in Mersin/Mut. Products are used for the needs of domestic and foreign sinter-magnesite (DBM) and calcined magnesite (CCM) factories.
In 2018, it was reinforced with a new mine investment for the mine located in Keban/Elazığ in order to increase iron ore (magnetite) production. Currently, all products from this mine are exported.
Mining activities are carried out with environmental and social sustainability awareness. In this context, continuous improvement studies are carried out to protect natural resources and minimize environmental impacts. The needs of the local people in the mining regions are approached with sensitivity and supported with social projects. With these approaches, group companies follow not only an economic but also an environmental and socially sustainable growth strategy.
Demireller Mining Inc. was established and started bauxite production in Mersin and Karaman.
Began bauxite trade in Milas/Muğla.
Operations started at the magnetite iron ore beneficiation plant in Elbistan/Kahramanmaraş under Demad AŞ.
Began bauxite production in addition to trade in Milas/Muğla.
First bauxite ore export from Turkey to China was carried out by our company.
Began magnetite iron ore production in Gövdeli/Malatya under Demad AŞ., and iron ore production in Elazığ/Keban
Conducted bauxite production activities as a contractor in Montenegro.
Production activities in the Mihalıççık/Eskişehir bauxite field began.
Bauxite exports previously made with smaller ships began to be made with Capesize vessels.
